Shanghai French School is a private, non-profit international school managed by parents. It welcomes approximately 1,470 students representing 45 nationalities, ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old (Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12), across its Qingpu and Yangpu campuses.

For the next school year, we are seeking an English Primary Teacher for our Yangpu campus, someone eager to contribute to our rewarding bilingual program.

At Shanghai French School, our curriculum is unique, combining the French system with elements of the British and American curricula. At the senior level, students follow the American track of the French Baccalaureate.

Profil recherché

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create a communicative and engaging classroom environment, designing lessons and organizing the classroom layout.
  • Foster key values in students, including responsibility, cooperation, and tolerance.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons, keeping up-to-date records and providing them for review when requested.
  • Adapt lessons to the French National Curriculum and collaborate with French teachers in subjects such as mathematics, sciences, arts, music, civic education, and history.
  • Monitor student attendance and progress, ensuring classwork, homework, and coursework are up to date.
  • Utilize technology effectively to support teaching and differentiate instruction, especially for non-native English speakers.
  • Organize and differentiate lessons based on students’ varying English levels.
  • Review student progress and seek additional support for those with special needs.
  • Manage resources, ensuring availability and keeping them up to date.
  • Continuously improving teaching standards, sharing ideas with colleagues and staying informed about educational developments.
  • Maintain close communication with staff, contributing to curriculum design and department development.
  • Uphold confidentiality and represent the school positively.

 Profil:

  • Native English speaker.
  • Strong experience in teaching kindergarten and elementary students.
  • Experience or motivation to work within a French educational system.
  • Eagerness to work with students for whom English is a second or foreign language.
  • Energetic and dynamic, with a passion for contributing to a vibrant, multicultural, non-profit school environment.
  • Willingness to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities and support students in their pursuits.
  • Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
